Fourth degree in three months for Samuele Cannas, the Sardinian student of records

Fourth degree in less than three months for Samuele Cannas, the very young Sardinian talent from the University of Pisa and the Scuola Superiore Sant'Anna who yesterday obtained, with full marks, the title of Doctor in Molecular Biotechnology, completing a course flawless academic, with an exceptional and constant average of 30 cum laude.
With this new title, which follows the degrees in piano at the Cagliari Conservatory and those in Medicine and Surgery (July 2021), in Biotechnology (September 2021) and in Engineering (October 2021), all obtained at the University of Pisa, Cannas is to achieve his goal: in December, after graduating from Scuola Sant'Anna in Pisa, he will be the first student in Italy to have 6 university degrees at the age of 25, all with honors.
A path, explains a note from the University of Pisa, "that Samuele has carefully built over the years to achieve his noble goal in the fight against gastrointestinal tumors and which, from 2022, will see him continue his specialist studies in surgery abdominal in the United States ".
Degrees, Cannas observes, "are essentially the means I have chosen to tackle a complex issue, such as that of intestinal surgical pathologies, with a holistic approach, which incorporates the skills of the surgeon, the biotechnologist and the engineer and amalgamates them together. mutually strengthening them: I hope that many young people can find in my example the inspiration to carry out multidisciplinary studies because this is the new paradigm with which to approach the medicine of the future ".
For the rector of the Pisa University, Paolo Mancarella, "Samuele is certainly a rare talent but also the demonstration that with dedication and passion the most ambitious goals can be achieved".
The student's success, concludes Sabina Nuti, rector of the Sant'Anna school, "is due to his talent but also to the public institutions that have been able to enhance him with an adequate training course".
Former member of the Aspen Institute Italia and awarded the title of Standard Bearer of Labor by the Head of State, Cannas, who trained at the Pacinotti high school in Cagliari, recently received the Socrate 2021 award and was also awarded the Merit of the Italian Excellence award 2021, born with the aim of rewarding Italy of merit and talent.
