The fate of sixty regional councilors and of an entire legislature is tied to what the panel of the first civil section of the Court of Cagliari presided over by Gaetano Savona will say today.
The decision on the appeal presented by Alessandra Todde's lawyers against the order of the electoral guarantee board requesting her dismissal due to irregularities in the reporting of electoral expenses is scheduled to be read this morning.
Two scenarios are foreseen: the panel accepts the opposition to the Court of Appeal's decision and things are looking good for the governor; the panel rejects the appeal and the ball is back in the hands of the Sardinian Assembly (called upon to apply what is prescribed in the order) and, initially, in those of the Elections Committee which has the task of verifying the causes of illegitimacy that have arisen and which, in this specific case, would suspend its judgment until the pronouncement in the final level of judgment.
So: in the first hypothesis something would really change, also because in the last five months Campo Largo has had to govern with the sword of Damocles of decadence ; in the second, at least on a practical level, everything would remain unchanged awaiting a definitive sentence . Which is, more or less, the situation that Sardinian politics is experiencing today.
