Many clubs between Eccellenza (Bosa, Carbonia, Sant'Elena and Villacidrese) and Promozione (Gialeto and Verde Isola, but also Pirri in Group A) are forced to play outside their municipalities or behind closed doors due to difficulties linked to the pitches where they would have the their house. «The problem of the facilities has been there for decades», explains Gianni Cadoni, president of the Sardinia Regional Committee, during L'Informatore Sportivo on Radiolina. «Many are being renovated this season, apart from Sant'Elena which in Quartu - the third largest city in Sardinia - has been without a pitch for almost ten years. The problem is the length of these works: they start by saying to keep the fields blocked for six months and then they remain for two years."

The request is decisive: «Our cry of alarm is for the majority of regional plants. The prayer that we make to the institutions and that we carry forward is precisely about this: taking a step forward and bringing our fields up to standard." Also because the following is high: «There are starting to be a lot of people in the stands, the level has risen this season. All systems must be brought up to standard and safe, our work must also be social", continues Cadoni. «The situation is complicated, from Cagliari on down. We're talking about the Cagliari stadium, which has priority over the others, but there are many others."

The reaction

One of the clubs involved is Villacidrese, last in Eccellenza which yesterday drew 0-0 with Barisardo in Siliqua. «It is a very important economic and sporting damage: we don't play at home, we mix up the activities and we have to travel, we have lost no less than 30,000 euros», reports president Matteo Marrocu speaking on Lorenzo Piras' programme. «Sooner or later the emergency will end, but at the moment our situation is dramatic. We can't figure out where we'll play our home games until Friday at the earliest. Furthermore, the only structure that, with great courtesy, hosts us is that of Siliqua: but documentation is required, indispensable in the Excellency, to be presented to the Police Headquarters which we do not have. And it doesn't allow us to have an audience." With a further report on the Medio Campidano: «They are redoing the fields in Serramanna, Villacidro, Segariu and other nearby municipalities, there is a lack of planning». Cadoni responded to this appeal: «I invite President Marrocu to hold firm. I'm sorry that they are far from Villacidro and that they can't even host the public: it's an anomaly, unfortunately some facilities aren't usable and others can host up to 99 spectators."
