A goal by Luvumbo, in his first time in Serie A, allows Cagliari to end the first half 1-0 ahead at Dall'Ara against Bologna.
Ranieri relies on the 4-4-2, with Wieteska starting in the first minute in defense and Petagna up front, flanked by Luvumbo. Bologna starts strong and Cagliari suffers. The first thrill is given by Karlsson, who tries from distance and hits the top corner. After the initial outburst, Ranieri's team took courage and, in the 22nd minute, passed: Wieteska launched, Luvumbo speeded through Bologna's high defense and diagonally slipped through Skorupski, for his first goal in Serie A.
The hosts seem to be in trouble, then they get back to grinding the game. And in the 30th minute Radunovic came to the fore, first saving from Karlsson's close attempt and then from Zirkzee's rebound.
Cagliari holds the ball and controls the advantage until the break.
