The Budget "may be approved by the Regional Council by March ". This was stated by the Budget assessor and vice-president of the council, Giuseppe Meloni, who, commenting on the approval of the third month of provisional exercise, adopted by the Todde executive , clarified that the Budget cannot be approved by February, but the hopes are to "conclude it by March". "Time is tight", he added, underlining that hearings in the Budget Committee, the opinions of the other committees, and, subsequently, the examination of the budget in the chamber, after its passage in the Budget Committee, will be necessary.

Longer times also because this time there is the novelty of the opinion of the newly established Board of Auditors , but Meloni clarifies that the measures that are being discussed in these hours in the Regional Council are not at risk of financial coverage: « During the provisional exercise, all those measures that do not involve new charges can be approved, those that can be included in the budget, as we inherited it , and therefore in that case we proceed with an expenditure in twelfths. If, however, they were to involve new charges - she clarifies - they must necessarily be foreseen in the new maneuver therefore they cannot be approved under the provisional exercise regime . Therefore in the case of the laws that are being considered by the Council in these days, in these weeks, it has been clarified that they do not involve new charges or in any case they are charges that fall within the availability already foreseen in the budget that we inherited», explains Meloni.

The reference is to the healthcare reorganization in particular, which in the last session was "purified" of rules that would entail new expenses, as in the case of the Cau (emergency care centers). "We trust that the Council will clearly use all its prerogatives, make improvements to the bill but then proceed quickly with the approval of the budget because the Sardinians need it," concludes Meloni.
For Todde, «ensuring administrative stability is essential: for this reason, on the proposal of Councilor Giuseppe Meloni, we approved the 2025 and multi-year 2025-2027 budget forecast of the Sardinian Revenue Agency and extended the provisional exercise until March 31, 2025. At the same time, support for businesses has been strengthened through the adoption of investment contracts. The Regional Programming Center has been identified as the body responsible for implementing the measure, while the investigation activities are entrusted to the in-house company SFIRS».
