After a weekend of running in, it gets serious. Continuity is fully operational and Volotea increases frequencies, even if compared to the standards introduced in 2013, the number of flights is in sharp decline.
The ministerial decree provides for a cut of up to 44% at Cagliari airport. At the expense of this are above all the connections with Rome. In October 2019 we could count on 9 pairs of daily flights, now on 5. And also the route with Milan recorded a reduction: from 6 to 4 planes a day.
The Spanish airline has added all flights between now and May 14 to its sales channels.
Here is the plan, in detail.
Cagliari-Rome - 6 - 7.20 - 15 - 18.30 - 20.15 Maximum price 56 euros
Rome-Cagliari - 7.40 - 9 - 16.40 - 20.10 - 21.55 Maximum price 72 euros
Cagliari-Milan - 7 - 9.20 - 16.20 - 19 Maximum price 64 euros
Milan-Cagliari - 9 - 11.15 - 18.15 - 21 Maximum price 74 euros

BAGGAGE KNOT - What starts today will be the test week for the Spanish company, which will have to update its web channels to eliminate unnecessary surcharges in territorial continuity flights. Until yesterday evening there were still some "pitfalls" that led to pay for loading luggage or booking seats on board.
On the matter of suitcases, the ministerial decree is clear: "On all flights, residents in Sardinia and for categories of passengers equivalent to residents must be free of charge for hand baggage loaded into the cabin within the limits established by current legislative provisions and regulations, as well as a hold baggage delivered at check-in weighing no more than 23 kilos ». Even for non-residents, at least "free hand luggage embarked in the cabin" must be guaranteed.
In addition to the free call center for assistance to travelers and the possibility of changing the date of the tickets without surcharges, "it must be ensured that the distribution and sale of tickets through the website is completely free and entails no additional economic burden for the passenger".
On the other hand, when booking a seat on board, Volotea is more or less free to apply the rates it wishes. The decree does not say anything about it, but obviously passengers should not be obliged to pay for the seat: it must be a free choice.
