Free visit to the Egea Museum on the occasion of Remembrance Day. The Egea Association - Una Luce sulla Memoria, in collaboration with the ANVGD Provincial Committee of Sassari - Fertilia, has decided to offer anyone who would like it a tour of the Egea Ecomuseum of Fertilia, on February 10th from 3.30pm to 6pm .
«Thanks also to the presence of some direct witnesses, we will talk about the activities of the Association and the future initiatives in the planning phase», we read in a note sent by the director of the museum, Mauro Manca. «Although the activities of the Egea Ecomuseum are carried out entirely on a voluntary basis, we wanted to guarantee everyone the opportunity to learn about our history and the values that should make us proud of our origins».
The Fertilia museum bears the name of Egea Haffner Tomazzoni, born in Pula in 1941 but who today lives in Rovereto. As a very young girl, Egea saw almost all of the 30,000 inhabitants of her city flee, forced by the persecutions of Tito, who was determined to erase the Italian spirit from the Julian lands. Famous is the photograph, already the official poster of the Day of Remembrance, of her as a child with the suitcase in her hand and the serial number: "esule giuliana 3001", photo donated to the Egea Museum.
