Farewell to the well-known Sassari scholar Giuseppe Doneddu. Born in 1945, he taught in the Faculty of Law of the University of Turriano, and then followed Professor Manlio Brigaglia in the History department.

Numerous of Doneddu's writings focused on Sardinian history and in particular, reports the former rector of the University of Sassari Attilio Mastino, “on Savoyard absolutism, feudalism, fiscalism, privileged classes”. Another field of his privileged interest was fishing and in this sense we remember, in addition to publications, the conference organized in recent years on the theme "Fishing in the Western Mediterranean, XVI-XVII centuries". Then his political militancy resulted in 2019 with the candidacy for mayor for the Municipalities of Sassari in the ranks of the Communist party with which he continued to organize events such as those on the occasion of the Republic day.

Giuseppe Doneddu, who died yesterday, leaves his wife Flavia and their children Carlo and Silvia. The funeral will be held tomorrow at 12 in the church of Mater Ecclesiae in Sassari.
