Farewell to Ado Campeol, the patron of the historic restaurant "Le Beccherie" in Treviso where, together with his wife Alba and chef Roberto Linguanotto, he invented the recipe for Tiramisu, a masterpiece of Italian pastry and over time became the most famous spoon dessert in the world .

The restaurateur was 93 years old. Despite the great success, the recipe has never been patented but the original one was deposited with a notary deed at the Italian Academy of Cuisine in 2010.

The ingredients? Savoiardi, sugar and eggs, mascarpone, coffee and bitter cocoa.

For Campeol's death, a message also arrived from Luca Zaia, president of the Veneto Region, who spoke of "another star" that Treviso has lost. "His very long activity as a restaurateur and his Beccherie - added the governor - have gone through decades of the best Treviso tradition, made up of hospitality and quality, and that polite smile that was never lacking on his face".
