Serious mourning in Oristano and Sardinian politics . Mario Puddu , a lawyer and exponent of the Christian Democrats, of which he had been regional secretary from 1963 to 1966, has died at the age of 96 .

In 1965 he was elected to the Regional Council, after this election he was confirmed three more times.

In the succession of councils, he held various positions in the councillor's office: in the local authorities between January 1973 and June 1974, in agriculture between August 1974 and January 1977, in finance and finally in tourism between January 1977 and June 1979. But he was also provincial councilor of the Province of Cagliari, which at that time also included the Oristano area which would later become the Province of Oristano, and even before that he was a municipal councilor in his hometown, the land of Eleonora d'Arborea.

On 31 July 1979 he became president of the regional council . On 19 September of the same year he resigned after having formed 3 councils and having resigned as many times, the last following a mistrust. He formed a new executive on November 12, 1980, but again resigned shortly thereafter on November 27.

Established lawyer , everyone remembers him for his kind manners and great availability and professionalism.

In the city there is great condolence and closeness is expressed by the municipal administration to his son Peppi , current president of the Oristano municipal council .
