The cult venue for rock and alternative music in the capital proudly reopens its doors, with new talents treading its stage: this Friday 3 October the twenty-fifth season of concerts at the Fabrik in Cagliari begins, inaugurated by the concert of the trio Whitefang, who will preview their upcoming album "It's a Strangely Beautiful World",
which will open with the emo-gaze of Fangosberla, who have already appeared on the pages of the Unione for their debut album.
Whitefang was born from the inspiration of Luca Cadeddu Palmas (guitar and vocals), soon joined by his bandmates Fabio Bruno (bass) and Alessandro Di Felice (drums). The project's sonic roots lie in the bohemian atmosphere of Western Ireland and their themes are directed toward exploring the intrinsic duality of humanity. The resulting sound hybridizes the ethereal pull of post-rock with the eclecticism of world music, balancing reflection and dynamism. Their debut album, "Into the Woods," arrived in 2021, followed three years later by the extended play "Prenda," a collaboration with Sardinian (but Rome-based) singer-songwriter Kreky, frontman of The Asteroids. But before 2025 comes to a close, the trio has revealed a new album, "It's a Strangely Beautiful World." "The title is a quote from "Star Child," a children's book written by Claire Nivola, daughter of the famous Costantino. The same phrase also appears in the film "C'mon C'mon" starring Joaquin Phoenix, and we were struck by how it perfectly reflected the album's aim," says Luca.
The first single, "Rest," features Pierpaolo Capovilla, frontman of the legendary band Il Teatro degli Orrori. Pierpaolo and I had the opportunity to collaborate years ago, thanks to festivals organized by the Bauladu Youth Council. In this song, he recites Pasolini's poem "Supplica a mia madre," the theme of the track. Cagliari audiences will therefore be able to enjoy the evening's preview of the entire album, and the band will also unveil new vinyl and T-shirt merchandise created in collaboration with Mayo, visual artist and singer of the veteran hardcore band La Crisi.
The evening will begin at 10pm, and the people in attendance will be warmed up by Fangosberla, a band composed of Carlotta Tiddia-Steri (vocals), Marco Camarda (guitar and second vocals), Daniele Putzu (guitar), Chiara Floris (bass) and Daniele Moi (drums): in January 2025 they debuted with the album "Tutto è bene quel che finita", published by Ghost Records.
