Elly Schlein will be the leader of the Democratic Party in the European elections in the Isole constituency, which includes Sicily and Sardinia.
The Dem secretary announced this this morning during the national leadership of the Democratic Party which approved the lists in view of the electoral consultation on 8 and 9 June. The only Sardinian candidate out of six names (for the moment, given that approximately three-quarters of the lists have been completed and there is time until May 1st to present them) is Angela Quaquero, from Cagliari born in 1953, former president of the Province from 2011 to 2013 .
This is the list of the Democratic Party in the Islands constituency: Elly Schlein, Antonio Nicita, Lidia Tilotta, Pietro Bartolo, Angela Quaquero, Peppino Lupo .
The list leaders of the other constituencies: Cecilia Strada head of the list in the North West, Stefano Bonaccini in the North East, Elly Schlein also in the Center and Lucia Annunziata in the South .
«I am available to lend a hand with a spirit of service, I am applying to give a boost to this wonderful team and to a project for change in the Democratic Party and the country », said Elly Schlein. Ours, he added, «are beautiful and very very strong lists. What is at stake calls us all to set out to campaign street by street."
In the event of election, Schlein will not go to Brussels and will remain in Parliament , he specified: «I hope to elect the whole team to work in Europe, while I will be here in the daily confrontation as secretary, in Parliament, with Giorgia Meloni for her wicked choices ».
