Historic feat by Chiara Pellacani: the Italian diver completed her sweep of European gold medals, winning her fifth out of five events at the continental championships in Paris.
Pellacani completed the circle with Elisa Pizzini, winning the 3-meter springboard synchronized event. Prior to this gold medal, Pellacani had won the team event, the 3-meter mixed synchronized event, the 1-meter springboard, and the 3-meter springboard.
"I was aware of my worth, but at these European Championships I realized the leap in quality. I've dived at a very high level, and now I want to get closer to the Chinese," Chiara said after yet another medal. "On the eve of the event, I imagined myself in a photo with all the gold medals around my neck," the Roman diver revealed.
