"Human action, including negligent and malicious actions, is behind 80 percent of fires." The regional councilor for the Environment, Rosanna Laconi, said this today on Radiolina, guest of the program "A tu per tu" (here is the podcast). A civic reminder, that member of the Council who underlined: "The drought certainly represents a trigger and for this reason we have brought forward the approval of the regional anti-fire plan to January. But the role of man is an important factor in the devastation of the territory."

Precisely on the water emergency, Laconi explained that the rains of the last few weeks have "avoided the restrictions, also hypothesized for domestic users. Now instead the Govossai is full and also the dam on the Rio Olai is running almost at full capacity. Even the infamous Maccheronis, dry during the summer months, has filled up". And on the fact that Baronia and Ogliastra complained about the discharge of water into the sea, the councilor underlined: "These are operations necessary for the safety of the dams".

On the front of anti-drought investments, Laconi recalled that to collect all the possible water resources it is «necessary to interconnect the dams, works for which the Region, through the Department of Public Works, has allocated 70 million euros». The other front of action is the reconstruction of the leaky pipelines: «Abbanoa has started an 80 million euro program on the water networks, marking a clear change of pace compared to the past». Of course, on Sardinia, «at the center of the Mediterranean hotspot, it suffers the effects of global warming».

On energy speculation, Laconi confirmed Terna's end-of-year numbers with 767 applications presented in Sardinia, of which 498 solar, 239 wind and 30 offshore. A supply for 50 million inhabitants. "These are the numbers - the councilor reassured - but these are still projects presented. But if planned outside the suitable areas they will not be implemented because Sardinia has the final authorization", the councilor emphasized. Who on the regional law challenged by the Government says: "It is fully in force until the ruling of the Constitutional Court". Laconi himself, in December, had had a dense correspondence with the Ministry of the Environment which authorized two projects, in Nurra and Villasor, going over the head of the Region: "The matter is not over, we will continue to defend Sardinia. The energy transition is necessary but with full respect for the environment".

The Environment Councilor finally spoke about Pratobello 2004, the popular initiative law signed by 211 thousand Sardinians and never discussed in the Regional Council. «The Assembly is sovereign but Pratobello is hinged on the work of the Chamber which will decide autonomously the timing of the discussion».
