The Region's funding for the Marialisa de Carolis concert body in Sassari , which organizes the opera-concert season, went from 900 thousand to 2 million euros . The news was given by Antonio Piu , councilor of Green Europe and first signatory of the amendment which allowed the measure to be approved yesterday evening in the session of the Regional Council.

The increase in funding will allow the Sassari institution to extend the season at the Teatro Comunale well beyond the current three months, including with other artistic events, as intended by the new artistic director Alberto Gazale.

The approval is the result of a work that aims to enhance the musical cultural heritage of Sassari which boasts the longest opera season, give greater impetus to the synergy between the De Carolis institution and the Conservatory of Music and Academy of Fine Arts of Sassari, the only in the regional territory.

«We have arrived at this important result thanks not only to the minority colleagues who signed my first amendment and to the councilors of the territory - explains Piu - also to the majority colleague Franco Mula, group leader of the Psd'az, who by amending mine has done the last act to get approval.
