After six years, the Marialisa de Carolis concert organization changes artistic director and calls Alberto Gazale to replace Stefano Garau. Born in Sassari in 1966, Gazale is an internationally renowned baritone, awarded in 2014 with the International Opera Award which is considered the Oscar of opera.

A pupil of the great Carlo Bergonzi, the baritone from Sassari made his debut at the Regio di Parma in 1997 in Verdi's Traviata. Since then his career has been a crescendo that has seen him protagonist not only in the best Italian theaters such as La Scala in Milan, the Arena di Verona and La Fenice in Venice, but also in international ones such as Carnegie Hall in New York (Othello in alongside Carlo Bergonzi), Opernhaus in Zurich, Deutsche Oper in Berlin, Real in Madrid, Liceu in Barcelona, New Israeli Opera in Tel Aviv, just to name a few. It was directed by great “candencies” such as Riccardo Chailly, James Conlon, Zubin Mehta, Riccardo Muti and Daniel Oren.

The brother is the actor Alessandro Gazale, protagonist in Angius' film "Ovunque proteggimi" and Zingaretti's right-hand man in the fiction "Il Re".

The new artistic director of the institution led by Antonello Mattone will be presented on Wednesday at Palazzo Ducale. On that occasion, Alberto Gazale will illustrate the guidelines of his mandate.
