Today is the day of farewell to Enrica Bonaccorti, who died last March 12th at the age of 76 from pancreatic cancer.
The funeral of the historic presenter and actress took place in the Church of the Artists in Piazza del Popolo in Rome, where her great friend Renato Zero's "Il Cielo" and "La lontananza," which Bonaccorti wrote for Domenico Modugno, resounded.
Awaiting her body in the church were her daughter Verdiana and her ex-husband Daniele Pettinari. Also present were Alba Parietti, Giancarlo Magalli, Guillermo Mariotto, Laura Delli Colli, Gloria Guida, and many other ordinary people who wanted to pay their respects to a woman who touched everyone's heart.
" I will miss your kind smile," Renato Zero's letter read by Monsignor Antonio Staglianò, "but I will always feel you close to me. I will always leave my door open because I'm sure you'll come visit. I'll see you again ."
"Enrica," Staglianò explains, "wrote about loneliness, about betrayed hopes, about souls searching for light. She tried to give a name to pain, death, injustice. In her writings, she gave us a humanity that was wounded but not broken. A humanity alone, but still endowed with the capacity to love ." "She never hid her fragility, her wrinkles. She had the ability to linger on details: two hands touching under the table, a little girl's hairbrush. And God infinitely loves these small details that are a sign of love. Enrica is a woman who loved so much: her daughter, her characters, her books. Her viewers and her readers."
Bonaccorti had a very close bond with the island: she had arrived in Sassari at just thirteen, the daughter of a security officer father, and would spend three years of her life here.
