Public order issues, ban confirmed: Cagliari fans will not be able to enter the stadium for Empoli-Cagliari, a crucial match for salvation scheduled for Sunday 6 April at 3 pm at the Castellani.

The decision came at the end of a meeting at the Prefecture in Florence, chaired by the Prefect Francesca Ferrandino , which ended with no agreement.

The Tuscan club had not put tickets on sale for the rossoblù fans, hiding behind the "recommendations contained in the Determination of the National Observatory of 25 March 2025, which suggests not starting the sale of tickets" to residents of Sardinia, even if they have a fidelity card.

A choice that has raised anger on this side of the Tyrrhenian Sea. Indignant reactions have come from the president of Cagliari Tommaso Giulini, followed by the president of the Region Alessandra Todde , the president of the Regional Council Piero Comandini and other political figures, such as Ugo Cappellacci and the coordinator of Forza Italia for Cagliari, Alessandro Serra . They all spoke of unacceptable discrimination .

A pressure that was not enough to change the minds of those who deal with security in Tuscany: the ban remains.

The rossoblù people do not give up. While on the one hand the Cagliari Fan Club announces that the trip was planned for some time and that the decision is considered senseless and that therefore «we will ask for access to the documents to know the real reasons that led to taking this senseless decision and on the basis of what we read we will move our steps», on the other hand there are those who will go to Empoli anyway. And an invitation is going around, with an eloquent image: piglets to be roasted in the parking lots of the Castellani. «And Empoli fans are invited», reads the announcement of the protest that is defined as «peaceful».
