The winners of the 9th edition of the Emilio Lussu Prize Festival have been announced: the first prize for non-fiction goes to “Il dissent al fascismo” by Mario Avagliano and Marco Palmieri (Il Mulino); first place for fiction is “The Duke” by Matteo Melchiorre (Einaudi); in first place for comic narrative is “The Shadow is Never So Far Away” by Leila Marzocchi (Oblomov Edizioni). The Emilio Lussu Lifetime Achievement Award goes to the journalist and writer Tiziana Ferrario. The awards ceremony will be held on Saturday 14 October.

The literary festival will take place in Cagliari, from Monday 9 to Sunday 15 October, in the Sala Castello in viale Regina Margherita 42, and is organized by the Cultural association l'Alembicco in synergy with the La Macchina Cinema association, with the support of the Region Sardinia, of the municipalities of Cagliari and Armungia, with the patronage of the Senate of the Republic and the awarding of the Medal of the Presidency of the Chamber of Deputies, with the partnership of foreign universities, bodies, literature study centers and associations.

Countless guests; in the “Women and society” section Adriana Valerio, Vera Gheno, Patrizia Carrano, Bruno Voglino and Chiara Cretella with the special tribute dedicated to Joyce Lussu. For the graphic novels three internationally renowned authors such as the Spanish Ángel De La Calle, the Brazilian Marcello Quintanilha and the Galician Miguelanxo Prado, alongside Bepi Vigna, Mario Greco and Laura Scarpa. Also worth mentioning is the VI edition of the international conference on studies on Emilio Lussu.
