"Since that day my daughter hasn't gone to school anymore . My husband said to me: 'You can't do this, how do we do it in September?'".
That day is May 24, 2022 , when an armed 18-year-old boy broke into an elementary school in Uvalde , Texas, killing children and teachers . And to speak is Elisabetta Canalis , who in an interview with the weekly F confided the great fear that parents live in the United States for the frequent shootings, which often and willingly have places frequented by their children as their theater.
The Sardinian model and showgirl lives in Los Angeles , together with her husband Brian Perri , whom she married in 2014 and her daughter Skyler , and is currently on vacation in Italy, in Santa Margherita Ligure. Far from the US, but - he confesses - the concern remains high.
"Even those who live in Los Angeles - he explains - have an app on their phone that warns you about what is happening around you or your family but this, at times, only increases anxiety".
Living with fear , however, is something that is an integral part of the life of those who reside in America, stresses Elisabetta.
“You can talk about the possession of weapons - he says - but the truth is that you cannot take them away from the Americans, they are part of their culture . Defense needs to be better organized, for example by putting armed guards in schools ”.
