«I didn't expect it to end like this. But now I'm happy."

Elisabetta Canalis, 45, returns to talk about her separation from the American surgeon Brian Perri after nine years of marriage, celebrated in Alghero .

The relationship with her ex-husband, she said in an interview with "Grazia", is excellent, even if she is now linked to the world kickboxing champion Georgian Cimpeanu : «I have a splendid relationship with my ex-husband, we have no secrets from anyone like but we put the interests of our daughter Skyler Eva before ours."

«If I look back, when I got married – she continues – it wasn't how I expected things to go. But over the years I have understood that we are constantly changing, and that the relationship between two can inevitably change. Separation can be faced either in a traumatic way, or by looking into each other's eyes and trying to understand each other. Brian and I are part of this second group."

The Sardinian model spent New Year's Eve in Los Angeles, the city where she has lived for some time now. And where she still lives now, with her daughter Skyler, a few minutes' drive from the villa where she lived as a married woman. A decision, that of staying in the USA, linked to the need not to upset the little girl's habits.

«Some evenings it's strange to think that Skyler is two miles away and that he's not with me at dinner – he revealed -. But then over time I'm getting used to it and I'm organized. Luckily I have good friends in Los Angeles."

Work is also going swimmingly : in 2024 he will return to the cinema, alongside actors Carolina Crescentini and Giampaolo Morelli. And also on TV, with Enrico Papi on Italia Uno in the Tilt program.
