Sardinians pay the highest electricity bill in Italy, 914 euros per year, 18.7% more than the national average of 770 .

The data is from Facile.it. Behind the island we find Sicily (825 euros) and Veneto (814) . The Ligurians pay the lowest bill, 642 euros a year .

It should be remembered, and so too do the authors of the research, that in many parts of Sardinia heating with city gas is not active, which is compensated for by the use of electrical devices which have a strong impact on consumption .

However, costs have significantly decreased compared to the previous year, Sardinians with a supply contract in the protected market spent on average 34% less compared to 2022 .

Analyzing the data province by province, Cagliari is the one that pays the heaviest bill. An average consumption per family of 2,937 kWh, 947 euros . Followed by Southern Sardinia (920 euros for 2,852kWh), Oristano (883 euros, 2,739 kWh), Sassari (879 euros, 2,726 kWh) and, a very short distance away, Nuoro , a province which, in 2023, recorded the lowest consumption in the region (877 euros, 2,719 kWh) .

«In 2023 – explains Mario Rasimelli, Managing Director Utilities of Facile.it – we have come to terms with less expensive bills, with the arrival of 2024 we are seeing good signs on the cost of raw materials front, but this does not mean that the bills they will fall automatically ."
