Another step forward in selecting the site for the Einstein Telescope was marked by the visit of the Minister of Research and Universities , Anna Maria Bernini, who will visit the SOS Enattos site for the second time this morning, accompanied by the Minister of Saxony, Sebastian Gemkov, and the President of the Saxony Region, Alessandra Todde.

This is a new endorsement from the government, but also the conclusion of a process that began in Germany a year and a half ago , thanks in part to the work of Ambassador Ettore Sequi (head of the Italian delegation on the Einstein Telescope Board of Governmental Representatives) and Raffaele Marras, who is following the dossier for the Region. This process led to President Todde's visits to Germany first in January and then in March, to Berlin and Dresden, and finally to the signing of the protocol last summer in Nuoro with the ET scientific community.

Lula Mayor Mario Calia will host the event, as he did for Bernini's first visit to Lula on March 23, 2023. Since then, there has been an increase in institutional meetings between representatives of regional institutions and events to promote the interferometer project: the meeting with Minister Bernini and Gemkow is the latest.

LIVE – Today's meeting at Sos Enattos, which will be covered live by Videolina with a news special starting at 12:10 pm, hosted in the studio by Stefano Birocchi, with interventions by Manuel Floris (head of the Unione Sarda Planetarium) and Gianfranco Locci , correspondent for Lula, represents a strengthening of the partnership between Italy and Saxony.

The press conference will take place at the Mining Museum at 12:15 p.m., followed by the conference "Saxony and Sardinia: two sites for a unique European research infrastructure." Participants will include Minister Bernini, President Todde, and Sebastian Gemkov, along with the president of the INFN, Antonio Zoccoli, the president of the INAF, Roberto Ragazzoni, the president of the INGV, Fabio Florindo, Mayor Calia, and the former director of the Sos Enattos mine, Gianluca Loddo.
