Drivers, doctors and waiters fleeing from their jobs
Low salaries and long hours, the jobs that no one wants to do anymore. The unions: «Without a wage adjustment certain sectors will stop»
Unobtainable. Even bus drivers have become a rare commodity: "The salary of a new hire, who is often given a part-time contract, does not exceed a thousand euros", says Arnaldo Boeddu, trade unionist for Filt CGIL.
Difficulties
In recent times, even finding a doctor is a challenge. The healthcare delays regularly photographed by newspapers are also linked to the lack of staff.
Then there are some professions that are highly sought after by the market but not as desired by new generations. The plumbers, the blacksmiths, the carpenters, the mechanics, the bakers. Without forgetting the figures necessary for the tourism system: at the start of each season hotels and restaurants have to bend over backwards to have full staff. And very often they don't succeed.
