Novak Djokovic returns to the field. The Serbian tennis player after the sentence that revoked the cancellation of the visa is back in freedom and already today he returned to train on the hard courts that will host, starting from Monday 17 January, the Australian Open.

The number 1 in the world posted a photo and a message on his Twitter profile: “I am delighted and grateful that the judge canceled my visa cancellation. Despite everything that has happened, I want to stay and try to compete in the Australian Open. I remain focused on this ".

Then the “huge thanks to all those around the world who supported me and gave me strength, encouraging me to stay calm”.

"Novak is free, he went to Australia to play tennis and set a new record," said brother Djordje during a press conference convened by the family in Belgrade, which was also attended by his parents and paternal uncle. "It is the biggest victory of his career".

Nole's family reiterated the "injustice" to which the sample was subjected. "Novak is finally free. He is only for the freedom of choice. Law and justice have won", said Djordje Djokovic, who also thanked all those around the world who supported his brother. "I expect the judge's decision to be respected."

In fact, the story is not yet over. The government can still decide to cancel the visa and overturn the judge's ruling, it took some time. The decision is in the hands of the immigration minister, Alex Hawke.

Djokovic had told the border authorities upon entering Australia that he was not vaccinated and that he had had Covid twice, in June 2020 and last December 16, which was then denied on December 22. The Serbian sample participated in public events on December 16 and 17, most likely - it is assumed - while he was waiting for the outcome of the molecular swab, which was then positive.
