Novak Djokovic owns 80% of a Danish company working on developing a cure for Covid. This was announced by the CEO of QuantBioRes, Ivan Loncarevic, explaining that the tennis star acquired 80% of the stake in June 2020.
According to the Danish business register, Djokovic and his wife Jelena own 40.8% and 39.2% of the company respectively. QuantBioRes is developing a peptide that inhibits coronavirus infection in cells and plans to launch clinical trials in the UK this summer, Loncarevic said, specifying that it is not a vaccine.
Dozens of researchers work on the project in Denmark, Australia and Slovenia.
THE AUSTRALIAN OPEN CASE - Meanwhile, the tennis player is seriously thinking of suing the Australian government asking for compensation of 3.8 million euros for the bad treatment he suffered. The complaints allegedly concern in particular the conditions in which Nole was held in the center for irregular immigrants in Melbourne, in an insect-infested room.
The tennis player, forced to give up the Australian Open, now risks also skipping Roland Garros, given that the French government has imposed that all professional athletes are vaccinated in order to enter sports facilities open to the public.
Meanwhile, the Federal Court has published the reasons why Djokovic's expulsion was confirmed: "A tennis star can influence people of all ages, especially young people, and push them to emulate him, could have increased anti-vaccine sentiment" , is one of the key passages of the reasons for the sentence.
Furthermore, the judges underline how having confirmed the interview with L'Equipe on 18 December and having carried out the subsequent photo shoot without protection despite knowing that it is positive, demonstrates a "poor consideration of the preventive measures on the part of Djokovic who, if emulated, it could encourage a violation of the rules in Australia ”.
