Novak Djokovic hits the eighth final at Wimbledon , the fourth consecutive and the 32nd at the Grand Slam level, thanks to the 2-6, 6-3, 6-2, 6-4 success against Cameron Norrie.
False start for the six-time Championship champion, who loses the first set playing very badly, returns to the second with a white cap and turns, leaving no chance for the British.
Nole did not impress as he did against Sinner, even in the last three sets, and he will have to do something more if he wants to beat Australian Nick Kyrgios in the final, in his first Grand Slam final but in great shape and very formidable on the grass fields.
On the other hand, the previous ones say two wins out of two for Kyrgios , who has never given Nole even a set. No one can boast such a resume against the Serbian, and on Sunday the Australian histrionic is playing for the chance of an entire career.
By winning his match against Norrie, Djokovic wrote a new page of statistics in his sport. This final will be his eighth at Wimbledon, and only eight-time winner Roger Federer has done better (12). He will play his 32nd final in 68 Grand Slam tournaments played. Thus takes the record with a better final than Federer (31).
He also signed his 85th win in the London Major. Again, only Federer did better (105). And he's been undefeated at Wimbledon since leaving the quarter-finals in 2017 with 27 straight wins. Only Pete Sampras (31), Roger Federer (40) and Bjorn Borg (41) did better.
" I didn't start the game well - admitted Djokovic - I was lucky to have the break. From there the game changed. This is how it is to play a Grand Slam semifinal".
