Dinamo Sassari's European season has not yet taken off, as they suffered their second defeat in the Champions League at the PalaSerradimigni at the hands of Aek Athens, coming back to win 83-79.

The blue and white were unable to capitalize on a match spent in command for over 39 minutes, being defeated in the final 80 seconds by Randle's triples. But ex Justin Tillman also took care of putting an important brick on Athenian success, scoring 20 points with 7 rebounds.

At Banco di Sardegna, however, the usual Diop (19) was not enough, supported by a still growing Tyree (14).

Bucchi took advantage of the excellent start (33 points scored in the first quarter, with his team capable of flying even at +15) and the comforting sensations offered by 25 minutes played at a good pace. What is worrying, however, is the confusing management of the final, in addition to the rebounding suffering (48 to 20 for Aek) and the inability to exploit the large amount of turnovers produced by the opponents (26).

The race. The Sassari team started with a turbo, overtaking the Greeks with Charalampopoulos' frontal bomb (22-11). The former Milan Kuzminskas tries to have a hand in coming off the bench, but Dinamo flies to +15 with Diop's dunk on the counterattack and closes in the 10th minute with an excellent 33-20.

The guests restart with a 10-2 break at the start of the second and take the upper hand on the rebound also thanks to Tillman. The gap narrows to +5 for the Sassari team, who find new resources in Tyree and Whittaker and regain their momentum at the long break (46-32).

In the second half, Dinamo deluded itself by scoring a +19 goal, but Plaza's team rallied together and attempted a new assault: led by McRae, the Athenians scored a 9-0 break at the end of the third quarter and called everything into question finding -3 (61-58).

Diop tries in every way to avoid the prank, which however materializes 40 seconds from the end, when Randle puts in the overtaking bomb from the corner (81-79). Dinamo has the chance to respond with McKinnie and Whittaker, but makes a mess. Aek then closed the game with the clock stopped, bringing home the success.
