Sassari goes to Verona on Sunday in search of the eighth consecutive success which is valid as a mortgage on fourth place. The pivot Ousmane Diop warns : «Let's not look at the standings, even if they are at the bottom they have a good team and a nice play-pivot axis with Cappelletti-Smith and then they have to save themselves, so it will be tough».

This season is the consecration for Diop, who has doubled his impact thanks to 9 points, 5 rebounds. More toned and defined, he explains his growth as follows : «I lowered the weight a little and did less weights in the gym after talking to the physical trainer Boccolini, with him we are also working a lot on body balance. Then I changed my mentality, before I thought too much about mistakes, now after talking to the coach I concentrate on what I have to do next».

Diop has figures even higher than the two big men of the Italian national team, Tessitori and Caruso. The Senegalese player with an Italian passport thus responds to anyone who fears a call up for the Azzurri : "I've always said that the Senegal national team has priority because I was born there, but if Italy called me in the meantime, I'd think about it" .
