Like in the good old days: Dinamo beat Milan 89-83 and relaunched themselves for the Final 8 of the Italian Cup . Bucchi's team had to win it twice because after dominating until the 26th minute they were caught three times in the final by Shields' bombs, but Charalampopoulos and Tyree decided the match.

Sassari without center Diop but with point guard Whittaker recovered from the flu (but Cappelletti is in the quintet), Milan without Pangos, Baron, Hines and Mirotic, but still has six foreigners on the pitch.

Dinamo starts with 12-0, scoring with everyone, Milan makes 0/7 shooting and three turnovers in the first actions .

It is the Italians Tonut and Flaccadori who promote Milan's return: 16-12 at 9'.

In the second quarter Bucchi proposes a very low quintet with four guards and a wing (Treier) to act as a pivot. He's right because Milan doesn't take advantage of his size, they're in difficulty against the systematic substitutions of the blue and whites and they suffer from Sassari's speed in defence: from the line Charalampopoulos re-establishes the +12 and is even +13 just before the break with an entry from the tightrope walker Tyree .

In the third quarter Shields lights up but Tyree also rages and Cappelletti's triple retouches the maximum lead: +14 in the 26th minute. The Italian champions manage a confusing phase of the match better and come closer with Poythress: 63-58 in the 29th minute .

Tyree is still the one to give breathing space to the Banco's attack against an increasingly suffocating defense, but Milan has found the three-point shot again and comes within striking distance: 72-69 with a bomb from the right corner by Hall in the 34th minute. Shields hits four triples at increasing distance and equalizes three times, but Gentile, Charalampopoulos and Tyree respond for the triumph .

Of note are Tyree's 24 points . Cappelletti, Gentile, Gombauls and Charalampopoulos also scored in double figures.
