A very good defense and the choice of high pace are not enough to beat Tortona. In Casale Monferrato it ends 71-68 for the home team and Dinamo suffers the fifth defeat in the first six rounds.
There have been improvements, especially with playmaker Bibbins (15 points and 8 rebounds), but the winning spark is still missing. Too many turnovers and missed shots from underneath, simply. Bendzius himself, who scored 14 points, made 7/10 from the free throw line, while the injured Renfro was able to play just 7 minutes.
Great start for Dinamo who runs and scores threes with Bibbins and Bendzius, earning a +12: 3-15 at 4'. Strautins leads the Piedmontese to a comeback. Slow but inexorable, which ends just before the break: 35-34 at halftime with a basket by Kamagate.
Upon returning, Banco took a new leap forward with a 6-0 run and went ahead by 5 points, but then the attack died down and Tortona, despite struggling against the Sassari defense, managed to get back ahead by a couple of baskets. The white-blues with the small quintet came back and tied with Tambone: 57-57 at 36'. A couple of errors were enough to reinvigorate Tortona who, with Strautins, extended the lead to +7. Bibbins made two triples for -2, but Kamagate didn't miss from the free throw line.
