At the PalaDelrio in Elmas, Dinamo Women triumphed over San Salvatore Selargius in a match included in the tournament celebrating the 50th anniversary of GS Oratorio. Coach Citrini's girls finished 81-43, a result that confirms the divisional difference but, more importantly, offers good indications ahead of next Thursday's European trip to Thessaloniki, where the white-and-blues will face Panathlitikos in the Eurocup preliminary round.
The match report. Sassari started strong: a 9-0 run opened the game, and by the 10th minute the scoreboard was already up by 15 with a three-pointer from Sammartino. In the second quarter, Treffers and Richards further widened the gap, reaching 41-19 at halftime. Even after returning from the locker rooms, Dinamo maintained the intensity, going on an 11-0 run that stifled Selargini's comeback attempts. Erikstrup and Juhasz attempted to shake up San Salvatore, but the gap remained wide: 62-34 at the third buzzer and 81-43 at the end.
Trozzola and Boros's injuries in the final quarter partially ruined the evening. The inclusion of youngsters Moro and Peragallo, playing as part of the partnership with Mercede Alghero, was a positive development.
The Elmas tournament will conclude tomorrow (Sunday) at 6:30 pm with the match between Esperia Cagliari and Klass Sennori, the two Sardinian representatives in the next Interregional Serie B championship.
