"During the last timeout, I asked the players to consider the point difference: we didn't even shoot because we lost two balls." Coach Veljko Mrsic's disheartened words after the unexpected 103-108 defeat against Treviso expressed concern for a Dinamo team that was in a deep crisis and was closer than ever to relegation.

The Sassari team has a four-point advantage over Treviso, who, however, have one more game to play and have a positive field goal difference, so they just need to catch up with the white-blues. With five games remaining, two wins would theoretically be enough, but we're talking about a Banco di Sardegna team that has won only twice in its last ten games: in Trento after overtime and at home against Cremona.

There are two main reasons for this decline. The defense has conceded an average of 94 games in recent games. Too many players think in terms of individual scores and personal goals, forgetting that games are won on defense, where the collective is needed.

Captain Rashawn Thomas's performance has been dramatic: he's averaging just 5 points and 3 rebounds. His numbers are even lower than those of Vincini, who isn't having the best season. Coach Mrsic needs to revitalize the team, even if it means forcefully, following his sporting suicide against Treviso, in the most important game of the season.
