«I consider it necessary to implement the suggestion, formulated during the meeting of 9 March with the Conference of Presidents of the regional councils, and to promote a modification of the bill during the parliamentary examination, so as to include the principle of insularity among the inspiring criteria of differentiated autonomy». This was written by the Minister of Regional Affairs and Autonomies, Roberto Calderoli , in a note addressed to Michele Pais, president of the Sardinian Assembly, where the discussion of three motions on the Calderoli law is underway. In the meantime, the minister lets it be known that he will be in Sardinia, probably in early April . It is possible that he will participate in an enlarged session of the Council precisely to illustrate the provision which for the moment has only obtained the go-ahead from the Council of Ministers.

Meanwhile, a majority party, Forza Italia , openly sided against the Calderoli bill on differentiated Autonomies . The regional coordinator and deputy Ugo Cappellacci defines the Region's yes to differentiated autonomy on Facebook as "wrong". In fact, he explains, "whoever buys a car or an apartment reads all the clauses before signing: even those written in lowercase because, if there is something wrong, it is usually there".

In the case of the proposed law on differentiated autonomy, «there is no need for a magnifying glass because there is already no reference to insularity in the premise . Those who said yes in the name of Sardinia made a reckless move. We want to read this proposal carefully and start rewriting it».
