A stunning goal, one of FIFA's top eleven goals for 2025. It's the spectacular move from Cagliari-Venezia on May 18, finished by Alessandro Deiola with a perfect right-footed strike into the top corner: it's been nominated for the Puskás Award, FIFA's prize for the best goal of the year.

Deiola's goal sealed the 3-0 victory that Davide Nicola's team had mathematically secured safety in last season's Serie A. A choral move featuring combinations, nutmegs, first-time touches and 13 consecutive passes that freed Deiola to shoot , a formidable inside-right shot that curled into the top corner, unstoppable for the opposing goalkeeper.

For the nominations, FIFA considered goals scored between August 11, 2024, and August 2, 2025. Deiola's is the only one for Italy, in an award that in previous years has seen winners include Zlatan Ibrahimović, Neymar, and Cristiano Ronaldo. The winner of the 2025 edition—to be announced at The Best FIFA Football Awards—will be chosen based on a 50/50 split between fan votes on the FIFA website (until December 3) and those cast by a jury of football legends.
