Cagliari suffered until the end but returned to victory by beating Ternana 2-1 with goals by two surprise goalscorers, Deiola and Zappa.

Ranieri immediately threw Pavoletti into the fray, choosing Zappa on the left instead of Azzi, with Di Pardo on the right, and Lella fourth in midfield. Ready, go and Cagliari passes: Pavoletti opens right for Nandez, cross from Leon and, on the other side, Deiola comes out. 1-0 after 4', all too easy. And in fact Ternana, slowly, reorganizes itself, takes the field and, in the 12th minute, equalizes: Di Pardo doesn't trigger the offside and Partipilo makes it 1-1.

Cagliari deflates, risks again on a slightly high left foot from Favilli, and is no longer able to give playable balls to the two forwards. That wasn't enough, in the 31st minute a heavy card for Dossena, who will miss Perugia through disqualification. The half ends with Deiola moved to defense for a 3-5-2 that produces no results.

In the second half, Ranieri's revolution, which keeps Di Pardo, Obert, Lella and Pavoletti in the changing rooms, inserting Barreca, Rog, Altare and Luvumbo. It's another Cagliari, which throws itself into the boarding, with heart and a little confusion. Luvumbo lights it up, who in the 9th minute shoots with a sure shot, but finds the save with Iannarilli's foot.

In the 15th minute the Angolan again runs away on the left, serves Lapadula who supports Zappa with the 2-1 ball. In the 20th minute Rog also tries (booked two minutes before and also disqualified), but saves Diakite. Goldaniga enters for Zappa, Cagliari nearly scores with Dossena from a corner action and then it's Radunovic (in the 41st minute) who flies under the crossroads on Falletti's attempt. Final high voltage, Diakite protests and is expelled. Then it's just a celebration for the return to victory.
