«I have an electoral mandate that says I must govern, a right and a duty towards the Sardinians that I intend to continue to exercise».
This was reiterated by the President of the Region Alessandra Todde the day after the ruling rejecting her appeal against the forfeiture injunction order.
In a press briefing at Villa Devoto, before leaving for Nuoro to meet M5S leader Giuseppe Conte for an electoral appointment in support of mayoral candidate Emiliano Fenu , she explained that the majority supporting her is united: «If there is one result that this process is achieving, it is to consolidate the majority in a very strong way».
Todde added that the legal case is not influencing the government's action. "We have been at stake on this issue for several months. This has not changed our government action . We have appointed a commissioner for health, solved the problem of La Maddalena which had been at a standstill for several years, we have set up the new tender on transport, we are providing answers on agriculture, on education, I could list the results in this year of government which are many".
Yesterday the rumors were about an imminent resignation: "Anyone who knows me knows that it is absolutely absurd. I would resign if I did not have the trust of the Sardinians. If the Sardinians told me clearly that they do not believe in me, that they have difficulties with the things I am carrying forward, I would certainly question myself with respect to the mandate I have received, but this is the only possibility, other possibilities do not exist".
