Decadence, Elections Board at work: "We will take all 90 days to report to the Council"
Giuseppe Frau, president of the body that must express its opinion on the ordinance against governor Todde: «First meeting on January 15». But first another topic will be discussedVideo di Roberto Murgia
The path to follow in the Regional Council in relation to the forfeiture case is taking on clearer contours. While the wait for the presentation of Alessandra Todde's appeal to the ordinary court is growing, today - but it had been announced yesterday - the official summons of the Council for the elections for next Wednesday at 10 arrived.
"I have called for January 15. The first item on the agenda according to the regulations will be the election of a vice-president of the body", explained the president of the Election Committee Giuseppe Frau (Uniti con Alessandra Todde), "the second will be followed by the injunction order of the Court of Appeal".
In particular, he added, "in the first session we will proceed to an initial illustration of the measure and to an initial comparison with all the members. In the subsequent meetings there will be a careful and rigorous evaluation of the merits of the measure, we will collect all the useful elements and data. At the end of the preparatory work, always according to the Council's regulations, we will report to the Chamber which will have to express itself".
From the moment the Council became aware of the act, it has ninety days to prepare the case. "We will take all the time we need to make our assessments." Obviously, the question arises of the concomitance of the work of the ordinary court, when Alessandra Todde will file the appeal against the injunction order of the electoral guarantee college of the Court of Appeal.
In general, it is common practice for the Board of Directors to interrupt the investigation process in these cases and postpone any evaluation once there is a ruling. "We will evaluate this already in the first session," Frau said. These are two intertwined tracks, and the president does not even rule out that the Board of Directors may declare itself incompetent to evaluate the issue.
