To support Sardinian pig farmers, strongly affected by the dizzying increase in production costs, the Regional Council has allocated 4 million and 800 thousand euros with a resolution approved during the last session on the proposal of the Councilor for Agriculture, Gabriella Murgia.

To the 4 million euros initially envisaged by the budget, 800 thousand euros were added, thus increasing the availability of resources in favor of the sector. "We have respected our commitments", comments the President of the Region, Christian Solinas. "It is an immediate and urgent intervention, and it will certainly not be the last, to give oxygen to a sector that first had to suffer the very heavy effects of the pandemic and the blocking of meat exports, due to swine fever, then an increase in costs of raw materials and energy, now out of control due to the international crisis. Ours is a convinced and continuous support to a sector with a millenary tradition that is fundamental for our production system and for our livestock and agricultural culture ".

"The sector continues to suffer - adds the commissioner Murgia - from a crisis caused today by a multiplicity of factors that began to worsen with the spread of the pandemic due to the restrictions imposed during the period of closure of some activities. hit temporarily, and in an unpredictable way, above all the small and medium-sized companies with scarce liquidity and not equipped for a rapid conversion of production ".
