The government tightens on expensive flights. After the meetings with the companies there is the official initiative of the Ministry of Enterprise and Made in Italy which tries to put a stop to the vertiginous increase in tariffs.

Sardinia is directly involved, given that the increase in prices ( + 40% compared to a year ago ) mainly concerns domestic flights and in particular those for the two major islands.

As anticipated by the Corriere, in article 1 of the draft of the decree «Assets and investments» , «the dynamic fixing of tariffs by airlines, modulated in relation to the time of booking» is prohibited if the following conditions are met «jointly» .

- « It is applied on national routes connecting with the islands »

- "Occurs during a period of peak demand linked to seasonality or in conjunction with a national state of emergency "

- "Leads to a sale price of the ticket or ancillary services 200% higher than the average flight fare "

The routes concerned are therefore precisely those for Sicily and Sardinia , while the "attentioned" periods are summer, Christmas and Easter . The maximum price, as specified in the third point, cannot be more than three times the average operated by the company on that flight .

The decree will arrive in the Council of Ministers on Monday and is therefore susceptible to changes .

It is still to be understood how the government will be able to monitor the trend of the tariffs, while in the same draft, the Corriere himself reports, there is a stop to the procedures that determine the tariffs automatically based on the user's web profiling activity or on the type of device used. This constitutes, according to the draft, "unfair commercial practice".
