The Roman tennis player won the first set with a break in the eighth game and struggled in the second, coming back from 2-5 down, even saving three set points for the Austrian. He then prevailed in the tiebreak.

That's not all, because Italy also won their second singles match in the quarterfinals against Austria, thus qualifying as the second semifinalist. Italian Flavio Cobolli defeated Filip Misolic in straight sets, 6-1 and 6-3. Italy's next match will be against Belgium—who defeated France yesterday—on Friday.
