There is an economic recovery , the 2023 labor market data also confirms this, but many critical issues remain on the island . Starting from the decrease in the population up to healthcare , a sector in which Sardinia records a high figure, the worst in Italy, regarding the renunciation of treatment . These are the main data that emerge from the 31st edition of the Crenos report , presented this morning in Cagliari.
The growth is in line with the Italian figure, the Sardinian GDP in 2022 is 71 percent of the European average. Consumer spending is growing (+6.1%) and the balance between terminations and hirings is active, with Sardinia having 18 thousand more employed people .
The rector of the University of Cagliari Francesco Mola wanted to point out how important not only this year's Crenos report will be but above all next year's report, in which the effects of the Pnrr will be seen more. And then, the rector's hope is that the Einstein Telescope can be assigned to the Island . a great opportunity for Sardinia. "We have the model, now we have to believe in it," said Mola.
The director of Crenos Anna Maria Pinna recalled that the report can be an excellent tool for future political decisions, a concept with which the president of the Sardinia Foundation Giacomo Spissu also agreed, speaking for a brief greeting.
At the opening of the presentation , the researcher Sara Pau was also remembered , who passed away in recent days and was a precious and very active animator of Crenos' work in recent years.
