For the island comforting data on the coronavirus front.

In fact, the new Covid infections in Sardinia fell by almost a third (-32%) where, in the week of 24-30 August, an improved performance was recorded for the cases currently positive per 100,000 inhabitants (701 compared to 923 the week following August 15th ).

The Gimbe Foundation highlights this in its usual weekly report. The incidence of the disease decreases in all Sardinian provinces .

The most marked decrease in the Oristano area with 220 per 100 thousand inhabitants and -36.9% compared to the previous week and in the metropolitan city of Cagliari with 215 cases per 100 thousand inhabitants and -36.8%. In Sassarese the lowest figure: 210 (-29.6%) .

In the province of Nuoro 242 and -31.2%, while in Southern Sardinia 212 with -26.5% compared to the previous week.

The occupancy of beds by Covid patients in the medical area remains below the national average (6.3%) while the percentage of places in intensive care remains above the national average (5.4%).

Regarding the vaccination campaign, now reduced to a flicker : the percentage of the population over 5 years that has not received any dose of vaccine is 9.8% (Italy average 9.7%) to which the temporarily protected over 5 years must be added , as they recovered from Covid-19 for less than 180 days, equal to 2.3%.

The percentage of the population over 5 years that has not received the third dose of vaccine is equal to 11.6% (Italy average 10.8%) to which those who have recovered for less than 120 days, who cannot receive the third immediate dose, equal to 6.4%.

The vaccination coverage rate with fourth dose is 12.3% (Italian average 17.3%), while children between 5 and 11 years old who have completed the vaccination cycle are 41.6% of the audience (Italian average 35.1%) to which to add a further 4.5% (Italy average 3.3%) with only the first dose.
