The Council of Local Authorities has a new president . It is the mayor of Sant'Antioco Ignazio Locci (FdI) who obtained 17 votes against the 15 of the mayor of Quartu Graziano Milia. Locci succeeds the mayor of Sestu Paola Secci (Reformers).

"We are giving an imprint of continuity with respect to the work of Paola Secci. Today the same political framework of reference is confirmed, that is, the center-right", he explained, "today we need to rebuild the great relationship between administrators to put in place a common platform useful to Sardinia".

Locci promotes a "relationship of loyal collaboration and discussion with the Region on issues that are important for Sardinia and that do not have a political color, for example the Einstein Telescope project".

At the time of the vote there was a political opposition. Could it have been avoided? "Everyone has confronted the souls from which they come, there are 35 local administrators with their own affiliations".

For Milia «no disappointment also because I had already been president of the Cal, a capable president was elected, but I must say that, with the spirit of the work that the Cal should carry out, this election was experienced as a merely political and partisan fact. The center-right wanted to impose its candidate without reasoning and this is a mistake».
