Copagri is not there and asks the Sardinian Region for explanations regarding the delay in the disbursement of contributions to support the agricultural sector for the damage caused by Covid and the conflict between Russia and Ukraine. "While agricultural producers are facing the negative consequences of the pandemic and those of the war between Russia and Ukraine, which led to unbearable increases in production costs, the Region - says Ignazio Cirronis, regional president of Copagri -, which also intervened in support of different production sectors, expresses an unbearable slowness in the disbursement of the established benefits. Many companies are now risking bankruptcy with revenues that do not compensate for production costs. "

“To counter the decline of agricultural enterprises, regional law no. 22 of 2020 - says director Pietro Tandeddu - has decided to grant direct subsidies to some sectors, such as horticulture, artichoke, cellars, pig breeding, inexplicably excluding others. Subsequently, with the 2022 stability law, the Regional Council intervened in favor of the dairy, meat, sheep and goat sectors. Laore , who has recently assumed the skills in this area, worked on the investigation of some practices in the pig sector (11 against 823 applications received) and in the dairy cattle sector . For the rest, the proceedings are blocked ”.

Laore had specified that "it would have been impossible to close all the investigations and proceed with the disbursements by June 30", the expiry date of the EU derogation on the legislation on state aid referring to indirect damage from Covid. The regional law that provides for the aid requires that it be paid in compliance with this provision. Copagri therefore asks for “a legislative modification referring to the damages deriving from the war in Ukraine.

"We ask that the Productive Activities Commission of the Regional Council - concludes Cirronis -, which is in charge of the provision, quickly approves the text to be brought to the Chamber with the urgent procedures provided for by the Council regulations".
