Almost a sentence: hostages of this air continuity for at least another 10 months.
The current service's expiry date, scheduled for October, will almost certainly be extended to give the Region and Ministry time to prepare the next tender.
A technical extension that should last until April 2026, when with the new tender the Sardinians should fly with discounted rates and a more reliable continuity regime than in the past. In the meantime, however, the controversy over the current service that continues to collect disservices does not subside, and that according to technicians and unions, could be partially revised right at the time of renewal.
«In reality, a first unknown could concern Aeroitalia's willingness to accept the extension», clarifies Roberto Devoto, professor of Air Transport at the University of Cagliari.
"An almost impossible eventuality that however makes us understand how the company in some ways has the upper hand. Because in the absence of renewal we would return to the free market and to the unknowns on prices and connections that would derive from it."
