Thirteen contemporary theatre events in a traditional building: the new edition of " L'Altra Rassegna " promoted by Teatro dall'Armadio begins today at Casa Saddi . Until March 7 , it will enliven the historic space on Via Toti in Pirri with short plays, full-length shows, new productions, performances and meetings with the artists.
The first weekend's programming
At 8:30 pm today, the event debuts in the Gertrude Hall with " Oroscopo dei Santi " by the La Super Santa company, a performance by and featuring Vanessa Aroff Podda, centered on ironic and participatory ritual, intertwining popular devotion and shared listening. This will be followed at 9 pm by monologues inspired by the authors Benni, Atzeni, and Copi from " Le Topastre " by Abaco Teatro , with director Marta Proietti Orzella performing on stage alongside Carla Orrù and Antonio Luciano , in a series of "cursed" portraits of female rebellion.
Tomorrow, the show opens with an adaptation of " Un amore di suora " by Massimiliano Fois at 6 pm . This production by Teatro d'Inverno, directed and performed by Elisabetta Dettori , tells the story of Sister Rebecca's journey toward inner freedom after two decades of monastic life. At 7 pm , " 5x5x5 ," a collaboration between Nero Teatro and Teatro dell'Armadio, by and starring Massimo Melis as an unlikely narrator who, beer in hand and slippers, will reel off distant yet strangely current memories in the Cagliari dialect.
From 6 pm on Sunday, the evening will begin in Sala Lisetta with " Wet Floor " by L'Effimero Meraviglioso , a reflection on the relationship between information, social media, and fake news, starting with the clash between a cleaner and a famous journalist. Directed by Maria Assunta Calvisi , with dramaturgy by Fabio Pisano and starring Daniel Dwerryhouse and Federico Giaime Nonnis , the show will conclude with Francesca Falchi , who, in collaboration with Teatro dall'Armadio, will present " Donna AD H(alta) D(igeribilità) ", an ironic and touching monologue on a neurodivergence discovered in adulthood, with musical accompaniment by Herbert Stencil .
The second weekend's events
The series will resume in Sala Lisetta on Friday the 27th , when at 8:30 pm " Skoncerto PPP " will debut, a musical and literary exploration of Pasolini's universe, directed and performed by Fabio Marceddu and Antonello Murgia . This will be followed by Anfiteatro Sud 's creation " Tutto nemmeno Gramsci" (Everything except Gramsci ), by Susanna Mameli and featuring Proietti Orzella in a work loosely based on "Le donne di casa Gramsci" (The Women of the Gramsci House) by Mimma Paulesu Quercioli, and narrated from the unique perspective of the great poet's younger sister, Teresina.
On Saturday the 28th, starting at 6 pm in the Gertrude Hall, " S'Abbistada ," a Rossolevante production by and starring Juri Piroddi , will be performed in a sort of monologue-invective against the merciless father that is time. At 7 pm , " Lianora Reina " by Teatro Tragodia will follow, directed by Virgina Garau and featuring Daniela Melis , Giuseppe Onnis , and Ulisse Sebis , revealing the not only public sides of the legendary judge, but also the intimate, personal, and by no means obvious sides.
The March Closure
The series will conclude on Saturday the 7th with three performances in the Gertrude Hall. It will begin at 6 pm with " Ruth " by Cristoph Nix, produced by Spazio T and directed by Nicola Bremer , featuring Chiara Murru in a reimagining of the biblical figure of the same name, a symbol of migration, self-determination, and female solidarity. After that, it will be the turn of the La Maschera company with " Filastarocca ," by and with Daniele Pettinau , exploring the enigma of the tarot through exhilarating sketches that combine theater, music, and improvisation. La Super Santa will return for the final show, with " Benedizione laica per tempi scomodi ": a new performance by Aroff Podda, which blends the sacred and pop, leading the audience in a collective gesture of blessing, with a rebellious and energizing flavor for these difficult times.
