After Matteo Salvini , Giorgia Meloni (re) also launches the hypothesis of Silvio Berlusconi at the Quirinale as successor of Sergio Mattarella.

For the leader of the Brothers of Italy, the next president of the Republic will have to be "a patriot". And the founder of Forza Italia would precisely reflect the profile: “Berlusconi was sent home by the European factions because he did not sign treaties then signed by Mario Monti, so he absolutely defended the national interest. We have never defined him as a flag candidate - added Meloni, interviewed in Mezzora more, on Rai 3 -, he is a name that compacts the center-right. Then we know that we need a convergence of numbers but it reflects what we are looking for ".

As for Draghi, the number one of Fdi says she is not completely sure that she embodies the patriotism necessary to climb the Colle. "I have no elements yet - he explained -, there are some dossiers that are fundamental for me to make this assessment: Tim, highways, the Stock Exchange. A series of issues that tell more than words how much willingness there is to defend the Italian national interest ".

In any case, Meloni concluded regarding the prime minister in office, “I am in opposition to the government. When I talked about Draghi at the Quirinale, even if we don't know what he wants to do, I said that it would open the way to early elections more easily and we are in favor of voting. But we would open the topic anyway, even with Draghi at Palazzo Chigi, his mandate is linked to that of Mattarella ".
