Coldiretti on the field «to defend the countryside besieged by wild boars and protect the lives of citizens who are increasingly put at risk on the roads».

Mobilizations have been organized throughout Italy to demand certain and immediate answers.

The first date is June 18th with Milan and Cosenza: thousands of farmers will take to the streets in front of the Regions «to ask for a change of pace on the policies relating to the plans to contain ungulates, which have so far proven ineffective», we read in a Note. Also scheduled for June are the stages in Sardinia and Abruzzo, followed by Puglia, Marche and gradually the other regions.

The objective of the mobilizations is «to immediately apply at a regional level the measures envisaged by the inter-ministerial decree launched last year for the adoption of an extraordinary plan for the management and containment of wild fauna. The Regions' plans must include the active involvement of the owners and managers of the estates with licenses for hunting and the establishment of a body of volunteer guards, at provincial level, to fill the shortage of local police personnel with the possibility to act also in protected areas".
