Clowns from all over Italy in Sassari for the National Clown Therapy Festival

Twenty years of red noses and smiles given to patients, especially the youngest ones in the Pediatrics and Child Neuropsychiatry departments of the University Clinics of Sassari. . The HappyClown Sassari association celebrates its twentieth anniversary and organizes the National Clowntherapy Festival. Clowns will arrive from all over Italy for the two days of discussion and activities: Saturday 28 September at the CineTeatro Astra, and Sunday 29 in the Conference Room of the Hotel Grazia Deledda.
The national conference will take stock of the clown's prospects in the ward in the post-Covid period. Also planned is a workshop on clown well-being and a varied show of gags and sketches for children and the citizens of Sassari, with volunteer clowns and clown trainers who have contributed to the growth of the association and its members over the past twenty years.
The guest of honor at the event will be Michael Christensen , founder in 1986 in New York of the first special unit of clown doctors in the world, who will be the speaker on the topic at the center of the proceedings, starting from the beginnings of hospital clown services and the evolution of the activity to finally address the great theme of the future challenges of clowns in the ward .
The initiative is realized with the patronage of the University of Sassari, the Municipality of Sassari and AOU Sassari, and the contribution of the Fondazione di Sardegna, the Municipality of Sassari, the Fondazione Onlus Gabriele Bacchiddu, Abinsula and Verde Vita.
